Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
The school will treat applicants who have a criminal record fairly and will not discriminate because of a conviction or other information revealed. Southmead Primary School is a friendly popular school with a caring family ethos. Our pupils are at the centre of everything we do. The Headteacher and Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced teaching assistant to support pupils with their learning in our Key Stage 2 classes. We are looking for a motivated team player ideally with experience of working with children with a range of needs both individually and in small groups. A positive and encouraging attitude is essential, as is kindness, patience and an ability to use your initiative. The role will include some small group interventions and may include some class cover for suitably qualified candidates. We are looking for applicants who are dedicated to making a difference to children’s lives and to ensure every child has the opportunities they deserve.

- Experience of delivering 1:1 and/or small group interventions
- Experience of setting clear and consistent boundaries
- A positive and encouraging attitude
- Kindness and patience
- A willingness to learn and undertake CPD
- Ability to work within a team
- A willingness to enhance the school curriculum
- GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths

Teaching Assistant - cover
£24,027 - £24,404 FTE (£12.45 - £12.65 per hour)
We are looking for people on an ad hoc basis to cover for staff absences. You would get paid for the hours you work and wouldn’t be committed to everyday – just as and when you are needed and are available. You will need to have a current DBS check which we can arrange if you are interested.
Ideally we are looking for someone with the following qualities:

Meal Time Assistant – Cover
We are looking for people who have an hour or so to spare between either 11.50am – 1.05pm or 12.15pm – 1.30pm on an ad hoc basis to cover lunchtimes on the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. You would get paid for the hours you work and wouldn’t be committed to everyday – as and when you are needed and are available. You will need to have a current DBS check which we can arrange if you are interested.

School Crossing Patrols help children and adults cross the road safely while they are walking to and from school at a designated point/s and between specified times.
