Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
The school will treat applicants who have a criminal record fairly and will not discriminate because of a conviction or other information revealed. Possession of a criminal record will not automatically prevent applicants from working with the school. As part of the recruitment process any information revealed regarding a criminal record will only be considered in light of its relevance to the post for which the candidate is applying.

The Headteacher and Governors of Southmead Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, experienced and dedicated Teacher to join our Teaching staff.
We are looking for someone who:
- has a passion for teaching and helping children to develop a love of learning so that they achieve their best outcomes.
- is a good or outstanding teacher with excellent subject knowledge.
- is a reflective practitioner, with energy and a sense of fun.

We work hard, challenge and support one-another and take responsibility for the standards our children achieve whilst in our classes. Children have fun learning and we aim to build confidence and a love of learning. Application form - Support Staff
Teaching Assistant - cover
£24,027 - £24,404 FTE (£12.45 - £12.65 per hour)
We are looking for people on an ad hoc basis to cover for staff absences. You would get paid for the hours you work and wouldn’t be committed to everyday – just as and when you are needed and are available. You will need to have a current DBS check which we can arrange if you are interested.
Ideally we are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- A Teaching and Learning Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent
- Experience of working with children and/or children with additional needs
- Experience of delivering 1:1 and/or small group interventions
- Experience of setting clear and consistent boundaries
- A positive and encouraging attitude
- Kindness and patience
- A willingness to learn
- An ability to work within a team
- GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in English and Maths
This role requires the ability to fulfill all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

Meal Time Assistant – Cover
We are looking for people who have an hour or so to spare between either 11.50am – 1.05pm or 12.15pm – 1.30pm on an ad hoc basis to cover lunchtimes on the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. You would get paid for the hours you work and wouldn’t be committed to everyday – as and when you are needed and are available. You will need to have a current DBS check which we can arrange if you are interested.

School Crossing Patrol
School Crossing Patrols help children and adults cross the road safely while they are walking to and from school at a designated point/s and between specified times. They are at locations where it may be difficult to cross the road.
