Netball Qualifier BLCT L1 Round - Selected Pupils
Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope this letter finds you well.As part of our commitment to promoting physical activity and encouraginghealthy competition within our community, we are excited to invite a selectednumber of Year 5 and 6s for the upcoming Braunton Learning Co-operative TrustGirls’ Netball Tournament at Southmead Primary on Wednesday 4th November2025 from 12 noon to 3.00 p.m.
The tournament will be an afternoonfilled with competitive games and an opportunity for the top 2 teams to qualifyfor the North Devon Finals. To ensure the smooth flow of the event, we kindlyrequest that children are adequately prepared with:
Ø AppropriateSportswear: Please make sure your child comes into school in their schooluniform with their activewear packed - consisting of a light coloured t-shirt,dark shorts / leggings and supportive trainers. Please make sure hair is tiedback and jewellery is removed. As the weather is unpredictable, please makesure your child is prepared and has with them a warm coat, jogging bottoms andjumpers to keep them comfortable when they are on the sidelines. There will beperiods of inactivity when children must be dry and warm so they all have apositive experience.
Ø WaterBottle, Snacks and Lunch: Staying hydrated is crucial, so please make sure yourchild brings their water bottle and a few healthy snacks. Children will be sentearly to lunch, although due to the timing only a packed lunch is available ifordering from the kitchen. Please indicate on our online form if you wish toorder a packed lunch from school.
Ø Medication:Please make sure that all medication, such as asthma inhalers are registeredwith our Office Staff, with instructions provided if medication is neededthroughout the day.
Ø PositiveAttitude: We encourage all pupils to approach the event with a positive andenthusiastic mindset, embracing the spirit of fair play and friendlycompetition.
Ø ParentalInvolvement: Unfortunately, parents cannot attend as spectators but yourinvolvement in helping your child practice at home, if equipment is available,will contribute to a positive, more confident approach to the tournament. Youcould even watch a few games on YouTube, to ignite further excitement andmotivation. However, if you are interested in supporting the event, and havecompleted our Volunteer Process, please let us know via our online form. Thank you for your help in advance.
Ø MusicLessons: If your child has a music lesson on the same day as this event, youneed to inform their music teacher as soon as possible. Failure to do this mayresult in your child missing their lesson but you still being charged.
